Active Adventure Passports Initiative is Launched
at Tillicum Elementary School

Tillicum Elementary School, Park Board Chair Korina Houghton and Vancouver School Board Vice-Chair Carol Gibson hosted the launch of the Active Adventure Passport initiative that made 20,000 passports available to 59 Elementary Schools east of Main Street and the West End. The Active Adventures Passport provides opportunities for the students and their families to become "20% More Active by the 2010". The Tillicum students performed their "Jump Start Your Day" exercises that get them ready to learn and enjoy their school day. Emma Sutherland and the Red Fox volunteers helped some students demonstrate the circus arts activities that they have learned.

The Active Adventures Passport Initiative began at Tillicum Elementary in 2006 as a MoreSports, Red Fox, Vancouver Park Board and Vancouver School Board partnership. In 2009 the initiative will expand to all Vancouver School Board schools.

The Active Adventure Passport will be accepted for a family to visit the BC Sports Hall of Fame http://www.bcsportshalloffame.com
