Pricing Guidelines

1. Families:  each person pays the Child rate.
   • To reduce the financial impact on small families and encourage more family participation. Adult(s) must be accompanied by a Child to receive the Family Rate.

2. Flexipasses:  allow you unlimited admission to Park Board fitness centres, indoor and outdoor pools and ice rinks and are available for adults, youth, and seniors.

3. Strip or multiple admission tickets:  up to 20% off applicable single rates for 10/20.
   • Incentives to increase use of facilities.

4. Priority times:  higher/lower rates may be charged at specific times of day or week.
   • To distribute use and available times.

5. Leisure Access Cards:  are available to Vancouver residents with limited income. Entitles cardholder to free public swimming and skating and 50% reduction of basic programs and services.
   • To encourage participation and to assist financially where appropriate.

6. Those persons with disabilities who are in need of assistance to participate are entitled to bring an attendant free of charge if required.
   • To enable persons with disabilities to participate in any recreational activity.

7. Exclusive use:  specific age categories or groups may be given pre-arranged special use of facilities upon request.
   • To distribute usage over available times and provide for special tournaments and group activities.

8. Reduced fee sessions:  specific low-cost public sessions at rinks and pools.
   • To enable all citizens to use these facilities at reduced rates during designated times.

9. Refunds & Cancellations:

   • Programs/Lessons (outdoor recreation, swimming lessons, etc)

     • Full refund will be given, if notice received five or more days prior to the start of the program.
     • Refund of registration fee minus the cost of one class will be given, if request received within four days of the start of the program or after the first program date (class/lesson).
     • Transfer to another current, or future session may be possible, if request is received within four days of the start of the program or after the first program date (class/lesson).
     • No refunds will be issued for requests received after the second date of the program.
     • Fees for one or two-day programs are non-refundable.

     Facility Bookings (Fields, Diamonds, Courts, Rinks, Pools, Picnics)

     • Once a permit is confirmed, cancellation requests require a minimum notice of ten working days prior to date of reservation for a refund of fees minus a $25.00 administration fee.
     • No refunds issued for cancellations of bookings made within ten working days of reservation date.

     Special Events
     Once a permit is confirmed, cancellation refunds depend on the permit type;

     • Level 1, Level 2: a minimum of 30 calendar days notice prior to date of reservation for refund minus a $25.00 administration fee.
     • Level 3, Level 4, Level 5, Weddings: a minimum of 30 calendar days notice prior to date of reservation for refund minus an administration charge equal to 50% of the permit fee.
     • No refunds issued for Special Event permit cancellations less than 30 calendar days from event date.

     Film Bookings
     Once a permit is confirmed, cancellation refunds depend on the permit type;

     • Filming: minimum notice of five working days is required for a refund minus the equivalent of four hours of staffing time (at posted "staff" rate).
     • Photography: minimum notice of five working days is required for a refund minus a $25.00 administration fee.
     • No refunds issued for permit cancellations less than five working days from event date.
