Stanley Park Public Access
January
29, 2007 - Beautiful Stanley Park is open for business despite
the recent snow and windstorms between November and January. Mild winter
temperatures have helped open the earliest blooming bulbs and shrubs
and a wide range of park services and attractions are awaiting all visitors.
Most of the active recreational areas in Stanley Park are open. Here's
a quick list of areas in Stanley Park that are open and closed.
Open
· The entire Stanley Park Drive including North Lagoon Drive
· The Seawall from Georgia Street to just before Lions Gate Bridge
· The Seawall from Beach Avenue to Third Beach
· All Park Restaurants
· Stanley Park Information Kiosk
· The Brockton Totem Pole Visitor & Interpretation Centre
· The Vancouver Aquarium
· Around Lost Lagoon
· All Sport Clubs ie: Vancouver Rowing Club etc.
· The Pitch & Putt Golf Course (subject to frost closures
on greens)
· All playgrounds
· The Rose & Perennial Gardens
· The Ted & Mary Grieg Rhododendron Garden
Closed
· Forested areas and forest trails remain closed. Please respect
barricades.
· The Stanley Park seawall between Lion's Gate Bridge and
Third Beach. Look for detours.
· Miniature Train and Children's Farmyard (seasonal closure)
The Park Board web site will be updated on a regular basis with the
public process and plans for Stanley Park's restoration.
