Tulip Time
April
16, 2007 - Over the next two weeks
thousands of tulips will burst into bloom
throughout the major parks in Vancouver.
This affords residents a timely opportunity
to see firsthand new varieties and combinations
perfect for the home garden or patio planter.
If you see a variety you must know more
about, contact the number below and staff
will get back to you with the tulip information
requested.
The Vancouver Park Board has been importing
these colourful harbingers of Spring for
over half a century. Cool and wet conditions
in March mean that this year's show will
be lush and a little later.
Combine an Active Communities walk or run while checking out the following locations over the next two weeks for great tulip displays. There is no better combination than a healthy activity mixed with wonderful horticultural highlights!
Stanley Park Rose Garden
English Bay Planters (near the English Bay Bathhouse)
Queen Elizabeth Park Quarry Gardens
VanDusen Botanical Garden
Morton Triangle at English Bay
