Project Description

Charleson Park Tennis Courts are owned by the City of Vancouver and operated by the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation. A building assessment conducted in 2010 found damage to the rooftop waterproof membrane of the building.

Reconstruction of the tennis courts is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2011 and will include the following:

  • Demolition and removal of existing rooftop waterproof membrane and tennis court surface
  • Installation of a new waterproof membrane and tennis court surface
  • Concrete repairs to the existing parkade
  • Installation of a new drainage system.

Project Updates

May 2012 Update
Installation of the tennis court surface at the Charleson Park Tennis Courts is anticipated to being during the end of May 2012. The work is weather dependent and completion is targeted for end of June 2012.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience during this time.

October 2011
The roof membrane for the 600 Moberly Road building is complete. Due to the weather conditions, the tennis court surface installer could not install the tennis court surface at the roof top level this year without impact to the warranty and finish of the product. We are currently evaluating other options to potentially open the tennis courts in the interim. We expect to have the tennis court surface installed at the first opportunity next year. We will be updating the False Creek Community Centre as more information becomes available.
