January 29, 2004 (No. 1) - Vancouver Parks host a diverse range
of cultural events and outdoor activities. Listed below are some upcoming
special events facilitated by the Vancouver Park Board. For detailed

16th
Annual "First Half" Half Marathon Sunday, February 8th at 8:30 am starting at David Lam Park
(Pacific Boulevard and Drake Street) - Entry spaces all filled by December
but spectators welcome. Several registered B.C. runners hope to go on
and compete in the Olympics at Athens this summer. Run goes from David
Lam Park via seawall around Stanley
Park and back to start. Sponsored by Pacific Road Runners.

Walk
With A Naturalist in the Hastings Park Sanctuary Saturday, February 14th - Join naturalist Al Grass at
the south side of the Agrodome (PNE) at 1 pm for this two hour, free,
guided walk. Rain or shine. Sponsored by the Hastings Park Conservancy.
This invitation is not extended to dogs. Ph. 604-255-9458.
Seedy Saturday at VanDusen Botanical Garden February 28th, 10 am to 4 pm - Located at 37th Avenue
and Oak Street in the Floral Hall. Heritage seeds for sale and swap,
seed growers and special lectures. By donation.
