Celebrate Acadia

June 10, 2004 (No. 39) - In Celebration of the 400th anniversary of the first permanent French settlement in North America, the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation along with Sunset, Kitsilano and Douglas Park Community Centres, and in conjunction with Le Centre culturel francophone and the Festival d'été , will present an entertainment series comprised of song and theatre from June 16th through June 18th.

A native of Miscou, New Brunswick. Sandra LeCouteur will sing songs from some of the greatest names in Francophonie.

"L''île aux 36 croix" - A play on Acadian History
Great moments of Acadian history through the perceptions of the commedia dell arte characters Pantalone and the Philosopher, who represent themselves as explorers and builders of the entire world, and Acadia as their most beautiful discovery. A show that will bring laughter to adults and children alike!
