Strathcona Park Improvements To Officially OpenJuly 5, 2004 (No. 48) - A Sizzling Sunday summer event will mark the opening of one of Vancouver's older parks, now newly restored, on July 11th. Strathcona Park, located at 800 Prior Street (at Hawks), will celebrate major, recent capital improvements this Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. Join community members for a dazzling family event which will include performing arts, a talent show, a Beat the Heat baseball game, skateboard clinic, sports, arts and crafts, raffle, Strathcona and Cottonwood Gardens open house and plant sale. A formal ceremony, with Park Board Commissioners and community stakeholders in attendance, will take place at 11:30 am.
