Feedback Requested - Proposed Sculpture for Cardero Park

July 5, 2004 (No. 46) - The Vancouver Park Board has been offered a sculpture as a gift from the Chilean Consulate and Vancouver's Chilean community for placement on the south end of Cardero Park.

The piece is entitled Neruda's Papers and was created by Chilean sculptor Raul Eberhard. It represents Neruda's love of the sea and the daily objects that give life form and meaning.

The Park Board wishes to receive public comment on this proposed donation, a likeness of which can be viewed at www.vancouverparks.ca

Comments will be received until July 12th and a decision about the proposal will be considered by the Park Board at its meeting of July 19th, 2004.
