July 12, 2004 (No. 51) - Recently completed park improvements will be officially celebrated over the next few weeks in their respective neighbourhoods. The public is invited to drop by and enjoy the variety of planned festivities that have been scheduled.

Tea Swamp Park, located at East 15th Avenue and Sophia Street, will celebrate its newly expanded greenspace this Saturday, July 17th at 1 pm. Improvements and additions include a community garden, skating area, arbor and mosaic stream. A festive cake cutting and brief speeches featuring community members and Park Commissioners will highlight this event.

Heather Park, located at West 18th Avenue and Heather Street, will be the scene for an evening park opening on Thursday, July 22nd at 5:30 pm. Join community members and Park Commissioners for entertainment, food and a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark park improvements including better drainage, a play area and new seating areas and plantings.
