Special Events in Vancouver Parks
October 29, 2004 (No. 15) - Vancouver Parks host a diverse range of cultural events and outdoor activities. Listed below are some upcoming special events facilitated by the Vancouver Park Board. Guided Autumn Colour Walk November 7th in Stanley Park from 1-3 pm. Meet at Lost Lagoon Nature House and join Park Board tree specialist Bill Stephen and the Stanley Park Ecology Society for a timely tree talk in and around Malkin Bowl and the Rose Garden. Fee of $5. Hershey Harriers Remembrance Day Run November 11th at Stanley Park's Brockton Oval Grounds. Run starts at 11:01 am. Register after 10 am. Phone 604-684-9771 for information.
Remembrance Day Ceremony at Memorial Park South November 11th at Memorial Park South - Sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 16 at 11 am located at East 41st Avenue and Prince Albert Street.
Remembrance Day Ceremony at Grandview Park Cenotaph November 11th at Grandview Park Cenotaph - Sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion #179 at 11 am located at Commercial and Cotton Drives.
Remembrance Day Ceremony at Stanley Park November 11th at Stanley Park - Sponsored by the Japanese Canadian War Memorial Committee at 11 am at the Japanese Monument near the Stanley Park Pavilion.
Remembrance Day Ceremony at Victory Square November 11th at Victory Square - Major representation by civic officials with music at 11 am at Cambie and Hastings Streets. Come view the restoration work, soldier lights and other improvements to this historic park.
