Sod Turning Ceremony: Champlain Heights Community Centre Addition

January 19, 2005 (No. 2) - The media are invited to a special sod turning ceremony that will commence the construction of a 390 m² (4,200 ft²) addition to Champlain Heights Community Centre.

The new extension will provide 158 m² (1700 ft²) of additional child care space along with a new multi-purpose room and enlarged fitness centre. Total cost for the project is about $1.6 million with funding provided by the Vancouver Park Board, the Champlain Heights Community Centre Association, City Wide Development Cost Levies, Community Amenity Contributions and the Ministry of Community, Aboriginal and Women=s Services.
