Sunday, February 6th, 9 am -12 noon

volunteers at workJanuary 24, 2005 (No. 6) - The Stanley Park Ecology Society (SPES) is organizing an 'ivy pull' in Vancouver's first park on Sunday, February 6th from 9 am to 12 noon. Volunteers are needed to join together in helping pull down English Ivy, an invasive plant damaging to native trees and plants and putting into jeopardy their long term survival.

Volunteers can join the De-Vine team on this stewardship project to control the expansion of English Ivy by meeting at the SPES Office in the Stanley Park Pavilion at 9 am the morning of the event. Participants will be removing the ivy which is causing reduction of native bio-diversity in the park.

Ivy Busters events happen throughout the year and continue rain or shine! Dress for the weather and wear boots and gloves as English Ivy can be an irritant to some people.
