Stanley Park Seawall Remains Closed for Slide Removals(Third Beach to Lions Gate Bridge)
All going as planned, Park Board staff expect to re-open the popular Stanley Park seawall the weekend of February 5th. The pre-emptive seawall closure was undertaken due to the inordinate amount of rain experienced in mid- January. The subsequent slides proved that this procedure for extreme weather conditions is valuable, in the best interest of public safety and will be the process for future severe weather forecasts. Updates can be found on the Park Board Web site at www.vancouverparks.ca - 30 - For information contact: Eric Meagher, Supervisor Stanley Park, 604-834-0155.
