Second Public Open HousePark Site at 37th Avenue and Oak StreetApril 6, 2005 (No. 25) - The public is invited to view and discuss three concepts for the development of the Park Site at 37th Avenue and Oak Street. Over 100 residents from the neighbourhood and other parts of Vancouver attended the first open house in February to share their ideas for the future development of the park site. At this open house the public will learn what residents had to say about future uses for this green space. Three concepts were developed from these comments. The Park Board would like to have the public's input on the three concepts and their preferences. Wednesday, April 6, 2005 This 4.74 hectare park site is a remnant of the old Shaughnessy Golf Course that was purchased by the Park Board in 1961 along with the lands on the west side of Oak Street that now comprise VanDusen Botanical Garden - 30 - For further information, contact: Alan Duncan, Environmental Planner at 604-257-8515.
