Special Events in Vancouver Parks

Vancouver Parks host a diverse range of cultural
events and outdoor activities. Listed below
are some upcoming special events facilitated
by the Vancouver Park Board. For detailed

Walk With A Naturalist in the Hastings Park Sanctuary Saturday, May 14th. Join
Vancouver Natural History Society birder Meg
Brown at the northeast
corner of the Sanctuary at 10 am for this two
hour, free, guided walk. Rain or shine. Sponsored
by the Hastings Park Conservancy. This invitation
is not extended to dogs. Ph. 604-255-9458.
Children's Festival
at Vanier Park May 16th to 23rd.
Lots of free activities on-site. Tickets
at Ph. 604-280-4444.
Park Board Rangers Start patrols May 21st. Rangers
have a host of responsibilities including the
monitoring of play field and general park activities
(including filming and "busking"),
bike patrol, reporting on by-law infractions,
public education regarding park rules and general
liaison work with other agencies and stakeholders.

Beaches and Beachside
Pools to Open Saturday May 21st. Lifeguards will be on
duty at designated areas on Vancouver's
bathing beaches from 11:30 am to dusk. Kitsilano,
Second Beach and New Brighton Park Pools
will also be open from May 21st. Check for
