Special Events in Vancouver Parks

September 1, 2005 (No. 20) - Vancouver Parks host a diverse range of cultural events and outdoor activities. Listed below are some upcoming special events facilitated by the Vancouver Park Board. Walk With A Naturalist in the Hastings Park Sanctuary Saturday, September 10 - Join guest naturalist Christina Struik and learn how 80 or more species of birds have adopted the Sanctuary as their new habitat. Meet at the north east corner of the Sanctuary at 10 am for this two hour, free, guided walk. Rain or shine. Sponsored by the Hastings Park Conservancy. This invitation is not extended to dogs. Bard On The Beach at Vanier Park now through September 25 - Show time 8 pm nightly featuring Shakespeare's As You Like It, Love's Labour Lost and Hamlet. Also Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Phone: 604-737-0625.

Mustang Car Display at Spanish Banks Sunday, September 11 starting at 10 am - Sponsored by the Greater Vancouver Mustang Association. Free.

Terry Fox Run Starts at Ceperley Meadow in Stanley Park Sunday, September 18 at 10 am - Ten kilometer run but shorter courses for other groups. Help celebrate 25 years of running success! For registration and other information phone 604-464-2666.

Annual Walk for AIDS starts at Ceperley Meadow in Stanley Park Sunday, September 25 - Registration at 8:30 am with start time at 11 am. There are 10 km and 2 km walks to choose from. Phone: 604-915-9255.
