Special Events in Vancouver Parks

October 3, 2005 (No. 22) - Vancouver Parks host a diverse range of cultural events and outdoor activities. Listed below are some upcoming special events facilitated by the Vancouver Park Board. Walk/Ride for the Disabled October 2nd at 11am. Back Country Horsemen of B.C. present their annual Stanley Park Ride. Meet at Prospect Point. For more information please call 604-534-3116.

The Stanley Park Hallowe'en Ghost Train October 7th to November 2nd, daily from 6pm - 10:30pm. This year's theme is "A Journey by Night through the Day of the Dead!" Guided Nature Walk in Hastings Park October 8th at 1:00pm. The Hastings Park Conservancy hosts monthly nature walks the second Saturday of each month led by a naturalist. Meet at the south side of the Agrodome. Please leave your dog at home. For more information please call 604-255-9458.

Seventh Annual Turkey Trot "Fun Run" October 10th at 8:30am. False Creek Seawall Run beginning at Granville Island. Organized by the Vancouver Sport and Social Club. For more information please call 604-879-9800.

"Arctic Mysteries, Arctic Magic" October 19th at 7:30pm. A Presentation by Biologist Photographer Danny Catt at the Stanley Park Ecology Society's Annual General Meeting at the Stanley Park Pavilion Ballroom. The 34th Annual James Cunningham Memorial Seawall Race October 30th at 9:30am. Stanley Park Seawall Race organized by the Lions Gate Road Runners beginning at Second Beach. Call the Running Room on Denman Street at 604-684-9771 to register.
