Public Invited to Festivities to Celebrate Upgrades to Kingcrest ParkOctober 17, 2005 (No. 72) - Upgrades to Kingcrest Park have recently been completed and the public is invited to attend the festivities to mark the completion of the project. The event will include a portable climbing wall, participatory drumming, square dancing performance, refreshments and much more. Kingcrest Park Opening The Friends of Kingcrest Park, after receiving input from residents, approached the Park Board in 2002 with a proposal to upgrade the park that would improve safety and better meet the needs of this diverse community. Improvements to this 2.5 hectare park included replacement of the playground, playing field improvements, a new sports court, new picnic area, benches, new paths and additional trees.
