New Addition at Champlain Heights Community Centre
Millennium Sport Centre Officially Opens

October 24, 2005 (No. 73) - Two opening celebrations this week will unveil new recreational amenities for the residents of Vancouver. The public is invited to these events which will showcase a wide variety of services and programming.

Champlain Heights Community Centre New Addition
3350 Maquinna Drive (at Champlain Crescent)
Wednesday, October 26th at 5 pm

The Champlain Community Centre addition includes a new child care centre, multi-purpose room, expanded fitness centre and lobby and a converted and enlarged teen room. Funding for the $1,667,000 addition came from the Park Board Capital Plan, the Provincial Government, Community Amenity Contributions and the Development Cost Levy fund.

Friday, October 28th at 4 pm

This new $4.7 million facility located on Nat Bailey Stadium Park will house both the Phoenix Gymnastics Club and Pacific Indoor Lawn Bowling. Funding sources include the City of Vancouver, a grant from the Canada/British Columbia Infrastructure Fund, donations from the community and the Vancouver Park Board.
