Deployment of Broadcast Vehicles in Parks

June 2, 2006 (No. 14) - In order to help keep park operations running smoothly, the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation is asking for your cooperation when sending broadcast and other vehicles on site at our parks or beaches.

Media vehicles seeking unfettered access disrupt normal traffic patterns on parks, beaches, service roads, seawalls or parking lots, and may affect public safety and the ability of our staff to carry out their day-to-day activities. Accordingly, the Park Board requests that you notify our Special Events Office before deploying your broadcast vehicles at parks and beaches to ensure that effected staff are advised and appropriate action is taken to facilitate your request.

It would be appreciated if you could, at the very latest, call the morning before an early evening broadcast. The Park Board Special Events Office can be reached weekdays by phoning 604-257-8494 and via cell phone on weekends at 604-834-7689.
