Active Communities Vancouver "Steps It Up" City Gets Serious About Stepping Up Physical Activity

October 5, 2006 (No. 25) - The City of Vancouver and the Vancouver Park Board have committed to support residents in becoming "20% more active by 2010" by allocating $100,000 annually to achieve this goal. The Active Communities Vancouver initiative identifies actions designed to increase healthful, physical activity through programs like Step Out Walks and Adventure Passports for children while enhancing the multitude of current fitness programs available throughout Vancouver.
