Media Access to Damaged Areas of Stanley Park To Be Cleared by Park Board Communications Office

December 20, 2006 (No. 30) - Media are advised that, in the interest of safety for both Park Board forestry crews and members of the media, access to storm damaged areas of the Stanley Park must be cleared through the Park Board's Communication Office.

Storm damaged areas are active work zones from dawn to dusk where staff are making every effort to reinstate park access. Forestry crews involved in the dangerous clean up effort are employing chain saws, front end loaders and a variety of other heavy equipment.
