West Side of Park Drive in Stanley Park Reopens After Trees Downed from Last Night's Storm RemovedJanuary 6, 2007 (No. 1) - Park Board staff report that the west side of Park Drive will reopen at noon today, reinstating access to Prospect Point Café, Sequoia Grill and the west side of the park, after a number of trees fell across roadways during last night's wind storm. It is expected that access to North Lagoon Drive will reopen by 2:00 PM today following the removal of several trees blocking access to that roadway. The public should be aware that access to park facilities is open, including restaurants and the Aquarium, but are reminded to stay out of forested areas and to respect barricades placed on trails. - 30 - For more information contact Carol DeFina, Communications Coordinator, at 604-257-8440.
