Special Events in Vancouver Parks

January 8, 2007 (No. 2) - Vancouver Parks host a diverse range of cultural events and outdoor activities. Listed below are some upcoming special events facilitated by the Vancouver Park Board. Guided Bird Walk at VanDusen Botanical Garden January 13th at 10 am at 37th Avenue and Oak Street. Join a Vancouver Natural History Society guide for a birding exploration of the garden. Rain or shine. Free with admission to the garden Ph. 604-257-8670 for information.

Walk With A Naturalist in the Hastings Park Sanctuary Saturday, January 27th. Join a naturalist at the northeast corner of the Hastings Park Sanctuary at 10 am for this two hour, free, guided walk. Rain or shine. Sponsored by the Hastings Park Conservancy. This invitation is not extended to dogs. Ph. 604-255-9458.

Light, Water, Drums Festival at Hastings Park January 27th 5:30-9:00 pm. Join the annual lantern procession around the lake at Hastings Park. Make lanterns and attend drumming workshops in advance at Hastings Community Centre. Ph. 604-718-6222.

Special Golf Rates at Vancouver's Public Courses. Check out the special tee times with reduced rates that are now available on Vancouver's beautiful full length golf courses at McCleery, Langara and Fraserview. Reserve a tee time on line at www.vancouverparks.ca.
