Vancouver Parks host a diverse range of cultural events
and outdoor activities. Listed below are
some upcoming special events facilitated
by the Vancouver Park Board. For detailed

Walk with a Naturalist in
the Hastings Park Sanctuary Saturday, May
26th at 10 am. Join a naturalist
at the northeast corner of the Sanctuary
for this two hour, free, guided walk. Rain
or shine. Sponsored by the Hastings Park
Conservancy. This invitation is
not extended to dogs. Ph. 604-255-9458.
Children's
Festival at Vanier
Park May 14th-21st. Lots of
free activities on-site. View the show

Park Board Rangers start
patrols Sunday, May 6th. Rangers
have a host of responsibilities including
the monitoring of playfield and general
park activities (including filming and "busking"),
bike patrol, reporting on by-law infractions,
public education and information regarding
park rules and general liaison work with
other agencies and stakeholders. Ph. 604-257-8400.
Farmers' Market at Trout
Lake Community Centre parking lot Saturdays
May 19th-October 6th 9 am-2 pm.
Featuring farm fresh fruits, vegetables
and plants, quality local crafts, delicious
edibles, community information, live music

Beaches and Beachside Pools to
open Saturday, May 19th.
Lifeguards will be on duty at designated
areas on Vancouver's bathing beaches from
11:30 am to dusk. Kitsilano, Second Beach
and New Brighton Park Pools will also be

Miniature Railway/Children's
Farmyard Open Good
Weather Weekends from 11 am-4 pm;
Open daily as of May 19th. Kick-off
spring with a visit to Stanley Park's
farmyard and railway. Lots of new farmyard
babies to see along with an array of
delightful lambs, chicks, ducks and goats,
