Moves Stanley Park Recovery Operations
into High Gear
July 4, 2007 (No. 17)
- Media
are invited to an event tomorrow to mark the
arrival of specialized log loading equipment (colloquially
known in the industry as "hoechuckers") to Stanley
Park. The equipment, donated by Finning (Canada) and
Caterpillar to aid in the park restoration
program, will be crucial to the removal of
thousands of fallen trees and woody debris
left behind after last December's massive
windstorm. Park Board Chair Ian Robertson
and Finning (Canada) General Manager for Surrey
and Vancouver Island, Enzo D'Angelo will be on hand
to answer questions.
