Park Board Services and Facilities
Affected by Labour Disruption
July 20, 2007 (No. 45) - The following Vancouver Park Board services and facilities were affected today by labour disruption:
Stanley Park
- The Miniature Train and Children's Farmyard are closed
- All other attractions are still open in the park
Swimming
- Five outdoor pools are closed (Mt. Pleasant, New Brighton, Sunset, Second Beach and Kitsilano)
- Indoor pools and Maple Grove outdoor pool are open as per their schedules
- Beaches are available with lifeguards on duty
All other Park Board facilities are open and services are available.
Residents can call the Park Board office at 604-257-8400 for further information and updates or check back on the web site at www.vancouverparks.ca. Information on other City of Vancouver services impacted by the labour disruption can also be found on the City's web site at www.vancouver.ca.
Program registrants are advised to check on the status and availability of programs at Park Board community centres, pools, fitness centres and ice rinks during this period.
The Park Board is making every effort to work with special event conveners and permit holders to facilitate existing commitments where possible; event organizers should be contacted to determine the status of bookings.
