VanDusen Garden & Bloedel Conservatory "Welcome Back" Specials

October 17, 2007 (No. 55) - Keen gardeners along with those who appreciate beautiful landscapes and the flora and fauna found there will want to take advantage of special "Welcome Back" events at the Park Board's Bloedel Floral Conservatory and VanDusen Botanical Garden.

VanDusen Garden, located at 37th Avenue and Oak Street, will offer free admission starting today through Sunday, October 21st from 10 am - 5 pm. The Garden Gift Shop will offer a 50% discount on all items through this Sunday. The 55 acre Garden is in its autumn glory with trees and shrubs burnished with their vibrant seasonal colours making beautiful reflections on the ponds and lakes.

Crowning the top of Queen Elizabeth Park is the geodesic dome housing the Bloedel Floral Conservatory offering special admission rates of $2 for adults & seniors and $1 for children and youth until the end of November. Escape the autumn drizzle by stepping into the Conservatory's tropical rain forest complete with over 100 free-flying exotic birds, parrots and Koi fish. A variety of small gifts will be for sale in the shop.
