Bloedel Floral Conservatory
Free Day December 14th - 10 am - 9 pm
December 3, 2007 (No. 61)
- The Bloedel Conservatory, atop beautiful Queen Elizabeth Park, will celebrate its 38th anniversary with a Free Day on Friday, December 14th with extended hours of operation from 10 am to 9 pm. The Conservatory offers sparkling, festive floral displays amidst decorative lights all month long, making it a great destination for the holidays. A lush tapestry of over 1,000 red, pink, cream and burgundy poinsettias has transformed this tropical paradise into a seasonal wonderland.
No matter what the weather is outside, a visit to Bloedel Conservatory will lift spirits with a great escape from the winter doldrums - without leaving town. Meandering pathways, bamboo bridges over koi-filled ponds, exotic plants from around the world and colourful birds make it a great family destination.
Bring your binoculars too and observe over 60 species of tropical birds that call the Bloedel Conservatory home, including a pair of spectacular red macaws ("Maria" and "Carmen") and our ever-popular pink cockatoo, "Charlie".
Great gift ideas and plants for sale in the Conservatory Shop!
