Active Communities Vancouver Annual Meeting

February 22, 2008 (No. 6) - The media is invited to the opening remarks of the Active Communities Vancouver Annual Meeting which will review the 2007 accomplishments and forecast 2008 projects.

Mayor Sam Sullivan, Park Board Chair Korina Houghton, Former Minister of State for Sport Stephen Owen, and Vancouver Active Communities Network (VACNet) Honourary Chair Bob Lenarduzzi will outline their commitment to encourage Vancouverites to "Step it up 20%" by 2010, an active living goal initiated through the Provincial Government's "ACTNow BC".

At the meeting, many of the organizations within the VACNet Advisory Committee will outline their initiatives that inspire and equip residents to increase their levels of physical activity, and make Vancouver one of the fittest, healthiest cities to ever host the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
