DEADLINE ANNOUNCEMENT: Neighbourhood Matching Fund Spring Deadline April 15, 2008

March 31, 2008 (No. 13) - The spring deadline for the Vancouver Park Board's popular Neighbourhood Matching Fund is Tuesday, April 15, 2008.

The Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation sponsors the Neighbourhood Matching Fund for eligible community groups who are interested in working with neighbours to improve parks and other public spaces. Projects funded in the past have included boulevard plantings, individually created street banners, information kiosks, mosaic walkways and community-based art projects.

Projects may be initiated by neighbours on a block or by a community-based organization. Maximum funding is $10,000, which must be matched with community contributions, including volunteer labour.

Community groups are advised to contact Anna Nobile, Community Arts Programmer, before submitting their applications.
