Public Invited to Open House
to View a Concept Plan for a New English Bay Bistro
June 6, 2008 (No. 26) - The Vancouver Park Board is
holding an Open House to provide an opportunity for the public to view
the concept
plan and share their comments on a new English Bay Bistro.
Thursday, June 12th
7:00 - 9:00 pm
Park Board Office
2099 Beach Avenue
The concept plan will also be available
for viewing on Saturday, June 14th from 11:00
am to 4:00 pm, adjacent to the English Bay
Concession.
The new bistro would sit roughly on the same footprint as the current
English Bay Concession and patio area and provide both table and take-away
food services. It has been proposed as part of the Park Board's Concession
Services Food Plan that recommends the creation of tenant-built and
operated food services at prime park locations. The Park Board developed
and approved an overall plan for the redevelopment of its concession
food services in 2006. The plan recommended a strategy which would see
the creation of new tenant built and operated food services offering
both table service and take-away facilities at prime locations in city
park locations. These would offer a higher level of service and improved
food quality and choice over what has currently been offered by the
aging concession system.
The English Bay Bistro concept plan can
also be viewed on the Park Board website
and comments may be submitted, by email to
