Public Invited to Open House
Emery Barnes Park - Phase 2

- The Vancouver Park Board is holding an
Open House for the public to view and comment
on the concept plan for Phase 2 of Emery
Barnes Park, located on Seymour Street, between
Helmcken and Davie Streets.
Thursday, June 19th

This neighbourhood park is a welcome refuge largely for passive recreation for those who live and work nearby. The Phase 2 development includes the following work:
- asbestos survey and removal in existing
buildings
- demolition of existing buildings
- environmental
site assessment
- closure of lane and relocating
utilities underground
- design and construction
of Phase 2 based on the concept plan
approved by the Park Board and City Council
in 1997 which includes trees, a large lawn,
pathway, playground and entrance features
Phase 1 of Emery Barnes Park, facing Richards
Street, was completed in 2003. Phase 2 of
the park development will add 5,335 square
meters of green space to the existing park
for a total area of 8,973 m² (96,587 ft²).
