Green Words, Growing the Language at VanDusen Botanical Garden August 1st-31st An eco-art installation throughout the Garden by Nicole Dextras. Artist-led workshops. Find out about the artist and her work at www.nicoledextras.com .

Bard on the Beach May 29th-September 27th at Vanier Park Bard is presenting its annual summer Shakespeare Festival and special events. Featured this year under the tents are Twelfth Night, King Lear, The Tempest and Titus Andronicus. Ph. 604-737-0625 or www.bardonthebeach.org .

Farmers' Market at Trout Lake Community Centre parking lot Saturdays May 17th-October 25th 9am-2pm.

Rockin' the Port at New Brighton Park 6-8pm, Tuesday, August 12th Presented by the Hastings Community Centre. An evening of live music. Call 604-719-6229 for details.

Letters from Lithuania at the Stanley Park Miniature Train August 21st-31st An outdoor, interdisiplinary performance about family history and displacement, set aboard the miniature train in Stanley Park. Monsters in the Meadow at Ceperley Meadow, Stanley Park 9pm Fridays, August 22nd and 29th Back again by popular demand! August 22--the 1931 classic Dracula starring Bela Lugosi and August 29th - the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Bring a lawnchair or blanket, a warm sweater and a flashlight. The Second Beach concession will be open all evening. Screenings are cancelled for rain or high winds. Call the Monsters Information Line at 604-473-6205 for up-to-the-minute information.
