December 5th
November
28, 2008 (No. 66) - The Bloedel
Floral Conservatory, atop beautiful
Queen Elizabeth Park, will celebrate its
39th anniversary with a Free Day on Friday,
December 5th with extended hours of operation
from 10 am-9 pm.
The Conservatory, at 33rd and Cambie, offers sparkling, festive floral displays amidst decorative lights all month long, making it a great destination for the holidays. A lush tapestry of over 1,000 red, pink, cream and burgundy poinsettias has transformed this tropical paradise into a seasonal wonderland.
No matter what the weather is outside, a visit to Bloedel Conservatory will lift spirits with a great escape from the winter doldrums - without leaving town. Meandering pathways, bamboo bridges over koi-filled ponds and exotic plants from around the world make it a great family destination.
Bring your binoculars, too, and observe
over 60 species of colourful tropical birds
that call the Bloedel Conservatory home,
including a pair of spectacular red macaws
and our ever-popular pink cockatoo, "Charlie".
The Conservatory Shop will be open, featuring many unique gift ideas and plants for sale.
