Seawall Closed from Lions Gate Bridge to Third Beach

December 30, 2008 (No. 41) - The Vancouver Park Board has closed the Stanley Park Seawall this afternoon from Lions Gate Bridge to Third Beach due to falling ice from the sandstone slopes above. The general condition of the Seawall in this area is also hazardous with icy surfaces underfoot and some debris from yesterday's windstorm. While staff are making every effort to reopen the Seawall as soon as possible, the closure is expected to be in effect for several days including New Year's Day.
