April events in Vancouver parks

Community Centre Easter egg hunts, various locations throughout the Easter long weekend. Visit vancouverparks.ca for a complete list.

Stanley Park Miniature Train and Farmyard, open daily over the Easter long weekend 11am to 4pm. Meet the Easter Bunnyand Easter Chick, ride the train and see all the farmyard animals.

Pacific Populaire bicycle race, Sunday, April 4, start and finish at Riley Park Community Centre. The popular 25, 50 and 100 kilometre rides are Greater Vancouver's first major public ride of the cycling season. Since its inception in 1986 the focus of this event has been to encourage participation by all cyclists regardless of fitness level, cycling experience, or age. Sponsored by BC Randonneurs Cycling Club .

Earth Day at Everett Crowley Park , Saturday, April 24, 11am to 3pm. Sponsored by Everett Crowley Park Community Stewardship. Earth Day takes place around the world on April 22. A number of other events take place throughout the Vancouver area.

Find out about invasive species and help pull out English Ivy with the Young Naturalists' Club of Stanley Park, in association with the Stanley Park Ecology Soceity's Stewardship Day external link, Saturday,April 24, 10am-12pm. For children ages 5-14 (and accompanied by a parent or guardian).

Earth Run, Sunday, April 25, Jericho Beach Park. The Earth Run Foundation raises awareness and funding for local environmental organizations. The 5km run begins at 11am.

MS Super Cities Walk, Sunday, April 25, run starts at 10am, Stanley Park, Ceperley Field and seawall. The 1, 3 and 5 kilometre run/walk is in support of the Multiple Sclerosis Society BC .
