Have a Hippity Hoppity Good Time at the Great A-Mazing Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt(Vancouver, BC) – Spring has most definitely sprung – crocuses, daffodils and camellias in full bloom, hummingbirds darting about and decorated eggs popping up in confectionary windows signifying that one of the season’s major personalities is about to come out of hibernation. Next month the Easter Bunny makes his annual appearance laden with sweet treats and colourful eggs.

Mr. Bunny is a very popular figure with children of all backgrounds. This year he is making a special guest appearance at VanDusen Botanical Garden to oversee an egg hunt par excellence in VanDusen’s Elizabethan Hedge Maze one day before all the ‘official’ egg hunts on Easter Sunday. He will be joined by his good pal, Purdy’s Chocolates ambassador, Philbert the Hedgehog.

Mr. BunnyOn Saturday, April 23rd from 10 a.m. to noon Mr. Bunny and Philbert will host The Great A-Mazing Egg Hunt. Celebrations get underway at 10 a.m. with children dropping into the craft tent to decorate an egg bag in which to carry their precious finds and or participate in other seasonal crafts. At 11 a.m. sharp Mr. Bunny and Philbert open the gates to the Maze and the surrounding area and the hunt is on!

Philbert HedgeHog So that Mr. Bunny, Philbert and the good folks at Purdy’s Chocolates know how many eggs to supply, participants must pre-purchase tickets in advance at VanDusen’s Garden Shop. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Prices: $6 per child (2 – 10 years), regular Garden admission applies for all non-member adults ($10.25), seniors ($7.50) and youth 11 to 18 years of age ($7.50). Tickets go on sale starting March 21st. Don’t delay as this event is sure to sell out quickly. Sorry, no telephone calls please. As this event has very limited capacity, cancellations are not accepted and refunds will not be made if you do not attend.

While at the Garden, be sure to enter the A-Mazing Egg Count. Guess how many eggs in the display and you could win a basket of goodies courtesy of Purdy’s Chocolates and an annual family membership to the Garden.

VanDusen Botanical Garden is delighted to welcome Vancouver’s own Purdy’s Chocolates as event sponsor. For information on Purdy’s Chocolates www.purdys.com For information on VanDusen Botanical Garden and its many events and programs www.vandusengarden.org
