International Women's Day

With the Olympics and Paralympics coming to Vancouver in 2010, there is no better time to acknowledge the achievements of our local women athletes. The women selected for this unique poster project span the decades, from the 1920s to the present day, and feature women from diverse backgrounds, abilities and are representative of different sports and achievements at different levels.

The 12 posters below will also be displayed in Vancouver community centres, libraries, schools, and other public buildings leading up to International Women's Day on March 8, 2010.

Approximately 200 people attended the celebration reception for our Remarkable Women held March 8, International Women's Day, at the Heritage Hall. A wonderful time was had by all. We thank these women for being part of our poster project and for being, each in their own way, truly remarkable.
