Creekside - An Overview

A legacy of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Creekside Community Recreation Centre provides a gathering place for community to enjoy recreational activities in a spectacular location. Operated by the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation, Creekside features a fitness centre, gymnasium, dance studio, several multi-purpose spaces and is also home to Canadian Sport Centre Pacific's Vancouver location.

A Sustainable Facility

Creekside Community Recreation Centre targeted and achieved a top honour in building performance and sustainability - LEED Platinum certification. Creekside consumes 69% less energy than a conventional community centre. It harvests rainwater for irrigation and toilet flushing, uses solar power for radiant cooling and was constructed with sustainable materials. Architects Walter Francl and Nick Milkovich both received Excellence in Green Building Practice awards for sustainable venue construction for their work on the centre.

Our Winter Games Connection

Located within the Athletes Village during the 2010 Winter Games, our facility provided office space for the Olympic and Paralympic Village mayor, management staff and Host First Nations. The restaurant, retail space and meeting rooms were used by Olympic sponsors to provide services and celebration spaces for athletes.
