Douglas Park Community Association
This Community Centre is operated jointly by the Board of Parks and Recreation and the Douglas Park Community Association. The Association is a registered non-profit organization whose Board of Directors play a significant role in determining the type of programs and services offered. Over the years, we have renovated the centre, expanded the preschool & out-of-school care programs, started a youth program, planted trees, as well as made many other improvements.
We have 20 Director positions which comprise the DPCA Board of Directors. We continue seeking new Board Members that would like to become involved in their Community. This involvement includes attendance at one Board meeting and one Committee meeting per month. Join one of 7 Committees of your choice:
Arts, Youth Support, Facility, Park Improvement, Program,
Sharing Our Wealth Festival, Preschool Parent Advisory
We need people with a variety of skills in things like organizing arts, fundraising, finance, event planning, program ideas, building and park facility improvement. Our goals include expanding and creating a new fitness centre and continuing to address community needs.
