Constructed in 1972
through the joint efforts of the Vancouver Park Board and local residents, the centre building is owned by the Vancouver School Board
and is linked to the adjoining Lord Strathcona Elementary School. The volunteer Board of Directors is an elected group made up of
residents, community agencies, representatives, and members at large. Together with the community centre staff they are responsible
for making decisions about the delivery of recreation, education and social programs to the neighbourhood, as well as community
development initiatives.
