Steve Adams has been in the entertainment business for over twenty-five years as an actor, teacher, writer, producer and director. He most recently produced the feature film The Baby Formula and has several other projects in development with his productions company Dreamstate Productions. He teaches and privately coaches actors across Canada for film, television and stage roles and takes great pride in watching his students thrive in the industry. Angela Amici has danced & performed internationally in a variety of styles from Salsa to Jazz and Hip Hop for the past 7 years. Students praise her natural welcoming attitude and ability to communicate. She has been spotlighted in the 24hr newspaper, Shaw TV, Spike TV & CBC for her dance classes.


Tatiana Antropova works as a Dating and Relationship coach. Trough private coaching, group workshops and social events she helps single men and women to understand each other and empower them to make healthy, informed choices in love and attract a like-minded long term partner. www.charismamatters.com


Trudy Austin trained in Surface Design at Capilano College in Vancouver, and completed studies in Fine Art at the Toronto School of Art, Haliburton Summer School of Art and at the Mill Pond Gallery. She is a registered Yoga Instructor and teaches Yoga, Art and Vegetarian Cooking and nutrition.


Sonja Bakker has over 26 years experience as an Actor, Teacher, TV Host/Producer and Casting Director.  Her credits include hundreds of commercials for Ford (USA) BCTV, Expo and  cartoons.  Movie roles have included Intersection, Cousins, and Final Destination.


Kevin Bergsma is a professional Contemporary Dance & Butoh Artist, living in Vancouver with over twenty years experience in a broad range of disciplines.


Olga Susana Bianchini has a broad-based expertise and experience in teaching diverse groups of people.  She has Spanish teaching experience in Canada and South America giving courses that range from one-to-one custom made classes to small groups and general audience classes.


Dr. Jeda Boughton completed her doctorate of TCM at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver. She worked at an integrated hospital in China and has been in private practice since 2003. She is clinical director of BodaHealth.


Barry J Brady is a fulltime photographer and specialises in Commercial and Landscape Photography. He taught courses on Digital Photography, Basic Photoshop and Advanced Photoshop at the College of Digital Photography. He has won numerous photography awards and is constantly honing  his photographic and image editing skills.

Club Adagio offers a comprehensive introductory rhythmic gymnastics class for beginners, including a structured warm up, body technique sequences, and apparatus skills training that culminate in a choreographed group routine to music.


Sandra Crosby has 30 years of teaching experience with an extensive background in dance, starting with ballet, tap, jazz and then moving to Highland, Scottish Country and Step Dancing.  Her classes offer a fun, disciplined, educational environment for all ages.


Nestor De La Zerda has vast experience as an Authentic Latin Dance Instructor, performer and choreographer.  He has taken dance training from some of the world’s best teachers in New York and Miami, and has competed in the North American Championships many times.


Gayle Dobson and Gordon Cheng are “Open Ranked” tennis players who are certified tennis instructors. They have many years of coaching experience and have participated in numerous tennis tournaments.


Ania Dytkowski has taught yoga for over 7 years. She completed her teacher training and received an Advanced Yoga Studies certificate. Ania has also been certified as a Seven Spiritual Laws Yoga Instructor. Yoga is her passion and journey to healing and transformation, which she likes to share with her students.


Kimberley Francis delights in guiding others to explore the creative process and is equally inspired by her students. She is a graduate of the Capilano Textiles Program and is presently finishing her BFA at Emily Carr. She has been teaching for 10 years and is excited to introduce textiles workshops to CHCC.


Dominique Francoeur is an artist, businessman and teacher who has lived for many years in China and S Korea. During his time in Korea, he had the opportunity to teach languages, display his art in exhibits and create short movies. Dominique’s classes focus on communicating and teaching with simplicity so that his students can have fun while they explore their creativity. Most recently, Dominique can be found entertaining the community with his lively presentations of his travels at the WECC in the Armchair Traveller program.

 

Andrew Fraser has been teaching Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga for over 5 years. He has studied in India, Japan and South Korea with world class yoga and meditation teachers including Sri K Pattabhi Jois and at the International Zen Centres in South Korea. Andrew's classes are inspiring, energizing and provide the knowledge and background to assist those in developing a healthy yoga practice.


Roxanne Gagnon is a practising artist and educator who has exhibited in Vancouver and Australia and has done many private commissions. She received her BFA in Fine Arts from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in 2001. Passionate about a variety of forms, she works with mixed media.

Sally Glenn, originally from New Zealand, has worked and lived all over the world. Sally has worked with children for 26 years and children are naturally delighted to be with her. She is certified in both children’s yoga and Mum and baby sign.


Rahma (Gail) Haddad — Internationally known ‘Rahma’ has an innate sense of the music and dance as part of her Lebanese heritage, she has a Bach. of PE, a background in modern, folk dance, Afro-jazz and gymnastics, and over 30 years experience in bellydance.


Sue Hanley first experienced Awareness Through Movement© 15 years ago.  She completed the Teacher Training Program in 2000.  Both from personal experience and from watching her students, Sue can attest to the importance of awareness in living a richer, more satisfying life. 


Kwasi Iruoje, Drum Master, hails from Nigeria. Co-founder of the Ogedengbe drummers, Kwasi has entertained all across Canada and the United States.  As a soloist Drum Master he interactively performs with his audience, creating webs of intricate rhythms everywhere he goes.


Nicole Jones is an outstanding stay at home mother of two and has over twenty five years of experience and education in the creative arts. She was a top graduate of the Fashion Design and Merchandising program at the Art Institute of Vancouver, and the Vancouver Film school. Her passion for creativity has taken her all over the world and has given her the opportunity to teach a wide variety of artistic programs throughout many of the Vancouver Community Centers.


Hari Prakash Kaur nee: Dawn Swanson was so inspired by Kundalini Yoga and its powerful technology that she deepened her practice and became a Teacher in 2003. Hari Prakash encourages the sacredness of an individual’s journey — she creates a sacred space for each to have a deeper experience.


Tanya Kliefoth is a professional flutist with over 25 years experience in performance, teaching and conducting flute ensembles. She is excited to share her love of the flute with others.


Jeanne Krabbendam, a local mixed media painter with formal training in European art tradition, has broad exhibition and teaching experience both in Canada and Europe. Her enthusiasm and creative ideas are inspiring and contagious to her students. www.jeannekrabbendam.com

Master Kevin Kwan is the head instructor of the Coal Harbour TaeKwonDo.
He is a certified 3rd-dan black belt, a member of the World TaeKwonDo Federation, and has over 10 years of teaching experience in the art.
Experience of teaching in multiple centres across the lower mainland, Master Kevin has enhanced the traditional TaeKwonDo system to become a better fit in community centre settings.
Creating best-in-class learning experience for participants with different personal goals and in various age group.


Charlotte L., BFA, studied at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design where she majored in Ceramics. She has taught at the West End Community Centre for over eight years.  Charlotte has also received several awards for her own ceramic sculptures. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, United States and Japan.


Sandra Leigh E-RYT is a member of the Canadian Yoga Alliance. She has also been accredited with the highest level of study with the Yoga Alliance USA, achieving the Experienced Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) designation. Sandra is also registered with Yoga Association of BC as a Senior Teacher.  www.natureofyoga.ca 


Lara Leontowich with Runners & Booties Fitness, has been dancing since she could walk. Her dance training expanded to modern, tap, jazz, and baton twirling but she fell in love with Salsa dancing as an adult. Lara loves to pass on her knowledge, love and passion of dance, and is thrilled to be bring Salsa Babies to Vancouver.


Charlene Long is a professionally trained Interior Decorator. Charlene not only practices her profession throughout the lower mainland but is also a well-known Continuing Education instructor of Interior Decorating in Vancouver, North Vancouver and Burnaby. Charlene brings both passion and enthusiasm to Interior Decorating.

Inna Makarova is an experienced teacher from Belarus who holds MA in Russian language and literature as well as PhD in English literature. Inna has been teaching Russian at the West End Community Centre for 3 years. She appreciates sharing her passion and knowledge with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Janet Mcleish is a Canadian born certified aerobic and Zumba instructor who has been teaching dance for over 12 years throughout Canada. Her Caribbean & French heritage led to the journey to study and teach a fusion of dance forms, incorporating African, Latin, Modern, Jazz, Middle Eastern, Hip Hop Funk, Ballet, and more.

Laura McNaught is an actor/dancer/singer/choreographer originally from Nanaimo, BC. She trained strictly as a dancer with Tempo Dance Academy, Kirkwood Academy of Performing Arts, and Parksville Ballet School for 13 years. Laura was one of forty students chosen to begin studies at the Canadian College of Performing Arts.

Czarina Mirandilla is a producer and director of theatre dance shows.  She is a very passionate instructor who has been teaching for the past seven years.  She brings over 20 years of experience in performing Polynesian, Latin, interpretive and Belly Dance which gives her style a world fusion flare.

Amanda Morris has had a lifelong involvement with gymnastics at both the recreational and competitive levels and began coaching in 1986. Amanda began the program at the West End in 2004. Amanda is certified Level 2 instructor.  Her commitment is to provide fun and fitness for all ages.

Manto Nakamura started coaching soccer in high school Japan.
He has his Youth Soccer Coaching Certification from the Canadian Soccer Association and has been teaching soccer skills at Coal Harbour Community Centre since 2001.  He will help your child develop skills in a cooperative and fun way!

Tommy Ng is a certified licensed dance instructor with over 15 years experience teaching Ballroom Dance.  He was a Ballroom Dance lecturer and has performed showcases for many functions and non-profit organizations including Vancouver Children’s Hospital fundraiser.

Melanie Osmack began Fit 4 Two in 2003 out of a passion to help women enjoy active pregnancies. She is a certified Pre and Postnatal Fitness Specialist and BCRPA Registered Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer.  When not teaching, Melanie can be found chasing her preschooler and toddler around the park.

Victoria Pawlowski, MED, RD is a registered dietitian, holistic nutritionist and psycho-nutritional therapist with over 25 years experience.  As nutrition consultant to Robson Capers Whole Foods Markets, Victoria is passionate about supporting others to transform their health.  Victoria@springwellnutrition.com

Dr. Briana Peddle BSc, ND is a Naturopathic Family Physician practicing in Vancouver. She has a special interest in Women's Health, Pediatrics, Gastrointestinal Health, Mental-Emotional concerns, Stress Management and Detoxification. She is trained in the use of nutrition and supplements, herbal medicine, acupuncture and homeopathy, in addition to other modalities such as IV therapy, infra-red sauna and homeopathic injections.

Miranda Ranger believes that learning is a fun process. She has taught English in four countries, visited a total of sixteen, and has a wealth of experience with various cultures and age groups.   An active interest in writing, tour guiding, and connecting with the global family, enables Miranda to bring more to the classroom than textbook learning.  Miranda welcomes newcomers to Vancouver who want to familiarize themselves with the environment and begin communicating in the English language

Joan Redfern is a certified Dru yoga teacher and a registered Shiatsu therapist (RST). Since 1997 she has been providing health care services to corporations, seniors centres and the community teaching yoga and providing the healing benefits of on-site shiatsu. Joan is also trained in Reiki and massage.

Anna Ryoo is an artist and educator who received her B.F.A. and B.Ed. from University of British Columbia.  She has over ten years of teaching experience in Canada and Asia and currently works as a high school art teacher.  As a mixed media artist, she works with a variety of conventional and unconventional art materials. She encourages students to explore their authentic, creative process to create art that is personally meaningful

Brian Ruhe, former monk, author of “Freeing the Buddha”, is a truth seeker and he has taught Buddhism for ten years. He trains in the Theravad Forest tradition and has taught thousands of people at temples, colleges and adult ed. courses. Brian says “Meditation means directing the mind!”

Mike Sagar is a Vancouver based collector who has been an auction junkie for over 20 years. He has worked for several auction companies, and is a regular buyer and seller at auction.

Michael St. Germain (4th Dan) began and continues his Aikido studies with Kawahara Shihan (Technical Director, Canadian Aikido Federation). Sensei is Chief Instructor of English Bay Aikikai (formerly Granville Aikikai) and gathering Place Aikikai. He has taugh in Vancouver for 18 years.

Rene Hugo Sanchez started touring at age 8. He has collected and learned more then 100 instruments. He holds a Bachelor degree from Cusco Institute of Music, Teacher’s degree, and a Diploma. Rene has 6 recordings and 4 books of Guitar. Rene has won awards locally and internationally.

Ali Sepahi is a retired University Professor with a Ph.D. from McGill University. He is an active Member of the FCA and has won four awards.  He has had art shows and has presented workshops in palette knife painting, acrylic and watercolor at Community Centers.

Linda Shedden was a client of the CALLANETICS EDINBURGH STUDIO in Scotland for 3 years before she moved to Vancouver in February 2006. She missed the classes and the affect on her body shape so much, that she decided to train as a CALLANETICS teacher herself! Linda was the first certified Callanetics teacher in BC.

Linda Short’s experience consists of over 20 years of teaching, performing and competing in a variety of dance forms throughout North America.  Linda has also demonstrated skill and enthusiasm in choreography and teaching all levels of students from beginner to advanced.

Katrine Clark Sperling is a Certified Financial Planner who has been helping people achieve their personal financial goals for over 20 years. Katrine offers both individual consultation and educational workshops. Katrine is with Edward Jones and works and lives in the area.

Cheryl Theilade has been teaching classes on natural skincare for over thirteen years for various Lower Mainland Continuing Education Programs and Community Centres. She shares her knowledge on using ingredients from nature to create affordable, healthy body care products with enthusiasm, spirit and good sense of humour. 

Astor Tsang has been teaching beginners how to knit for almost a decade. With the experience of teaching hundreds of beginners she developed a Nothing Is Obvious philosophy. Astor’s published work includes her beginner knitting book called “A Simple-to-Use Guide to Creating Hip Knits” and her Knitty.com knitted wig with curlers. 

Karen (4th Dan) Williams have 33 years of experience and have competed internationally in kata (form) and kumite (fighting). Karen was the top female fighter for 10+ years, Champion of the UK five times, Europe twice and World Bronze medalist twice.

Bahareh Zolfaghari has an Italian Language Instructor Certificate from Universita Per Stranieri Di Siena, Italy and has more than 10 years experience as an Italian instructor.  She has taught both group and private lessons throughout the lower mainland including at C.A.S.I., the Italian Language School. .
