Park Board Districts

The Vancouver Park Board is divided into five divisions. Two divisions provide support across the organization: Corporate Services includes finance, information technology, communications, purchasing and safety; Planning and Operations includes planning research, park land acquisition, facilities and park design, development and maintenance. Three of these divisions are geographic districts that are responsible for the recreation and park operations in their area - Stanley, Queen Elizabeth and Vancouver East (see map).

This decentralized approach was implemented in 1998 as part of a service and structure review to assist the Park Board in becoming more efficient in its operations and more responsive to the expectations and service needs of the public. Each district has its own administrative office which directs the specific recreation and parks operations throughout the district.
