VanDusen's Laburnum Walk

Now in full bloom with pendulous yellow chain-like tresses!

Laburnums floweringMay 26, 2008 - As the seasons unfold about us there are definitely some starring attractions that are keenly anticipated. At the Vancouver Park Board's VanDusen Botanical Garden now, and over the next two weeks, the glorious Laburnum Walk is in full-force bloom much to the delight of visitors.

A main attraction every late spring, this year's cooler temperatures earlier in the season have given a special boost to the flower power of the laburnum trees whose sulphur-coloured pendulous chains are suspended like great necklaces over an under planting of purple giant alliums and bluebells.

Tourists and residents alike have been flocking to VanDusen Garden over the last week to enjoy this annual horticultural delight in full swing. All agree that this year's is an exceptional display!

VanDusen's display is fashioned after the world famous Laburnum Tunnel at Bodnant Garden in northern Wales, UK.
