Rainy day summer fun

A rainy weather forecast is a great opportunity to discover all sorts of activities indoors and out around Vancouver.

Splash in a puddle

Dig out your rubber boots, rain coat and umbrella and head for the park! Race popsicle sticks or twigs in the little streams, splash in the puddles and breath in the fresh smell a long-awaited rain brings to the forest. And you won't need any sunscreen.

 

Bouncy castles and obstacle courses:

Drop in at the West End Community Centre or Kerrisdale Arena for a day's worth of fun! Kids Zone (West End) and Play Palace (Kerrisdale) are open to children 12 and under for drop-in and party bookings. Visit their websites for hours, admission and details.

 

 

Bloedel Floral Conservatory

Under the glass dome the Bloedel Floral Conservatory is home to a dazzling display of exotic plants, tropical flowers, colorful Koi fish and over 100 species of free-flying birds.

Have a swim

Vancouver 's nine indoor pools are open year-round from early morning to late evening. Park Board pools are located throughout Vancouver, are affordable and accessible to all. Take the plunge and get wet!

 

 

 

Go for a skate

Just because it's August doesn't mean you shouldn't go ice skating. Sunset Rink is open until August 15 for ice activities including public skate sessions.
