The Park Board's Top Five things to do over spring break:
5. Visit Queen Elizabeth Park and the Bloedel Conservatory. Vancouver's highest point offers trails, a viewpoint and beautiful gardens. Warm up chilly fingers and toes inside the tropical Bloedel Conservatory. The giant geodesic dome is home to plants and flowers from around the world. Watch for over 100 species of free-flying birds including beautiful brightly-coloured parrots.
4. Play a round of golf! We have three championship courses and three pitch 'n putt courses to challenge beginners and experts alike.
3. Explore a new park or beach. Did you know Vancouver has over 220 parks, 11 beaches and 18 kilometres of public waterfront? Make up a scavenger hunt, start a game of eye-spy or try Geocaching
and start exploring!
2. Go for a swim! Vancouver's nine indoor pools offer public swim sessions, laps and lessons.
1. Visit Stanley Park. Plan to spend a full day in Vancouver 's evergreen gem. The ever-popular Vancouver Aquarium
is open 9:30am-5pm daily. During Spring Break not only will you see the usual roster of marine life such as otters, belugas and dolphins, but SpongeBob SquarePants will be on hand, too! Stop in at the Children's Farmyard and say hi to Pookie the llama (and over 100 other critters that call the farmyard home). The Farmyard and Miniature Train are open 11am-4pm during Spring Break. Walk or bike the seawall, bring a picnic lunch and watch spring unfold in the forests, gardens and along the beaches.
