There's still lots of summertime left in the summer!

Back to school shopping, leaves beginning to fall and cooler, crisper nights signal the end of the lazy, summer days. But wait! There's still lots of summer things to do before fall arrives.

Swim outdoors at one of our five outdoor pools. Or, plan a trip to the beach at one of our ten lifeguarded bathing beaches. Lifeguard staff at all locations will be finished after Labour Day, Monday, September 6. Kits Pool will continue to stay open another week until Sunday, September 12.

Klahowya Village at the Miniature Train in Stanley Park has been held over a week so you have until September 12 to check it out. Experience vibrant Aboriginal culture through song, dance, art and cuisine!

Organize a round of golf at one our great courses. It's affordable and within easy reach-in terms of dollars, distance and bookings. Book online for one of our three full-length golf courses and just drop in at one of three pitch & putt courses located around the city.

Discover a new or recently refurbished park:

  • Vanier BMX Bike Park is Vancouver's first park dedicated to BMX bikers. Dirt jumps and ramps have been built in an area just west of Burrard Bridge and south of Burrard Civic Marina. The construction fence will be down by August 27 and an official opening is scheduled for September 25.
  • Tecumseh Park (East 45th Avenue at Bruce Street) was recently renovated to include a new playground, paths and lawn. An official opening takes place September 11.
