Project Description


Phase 1 and 2 of Emery Barnes Park are complete. The Phase 3 development includes the following works:

  • demolition of existing buildings (complete)
  • environmental site assessment (complete in early June 2011)
  • construction of Phase 3 based on the concept plan approved by the Board and Council in 1997.

Phase 3 will complete the park with an entry plaza off of the busy corner of Davie and Seymour Streets. The estimated date for completion of Phase 3 is March 2012.

Background

Phase 1 of Emery Barnes Park, facing Richards Street, was completed in 2003. Phase 2 of the park was completed in Summer 2010. The neighbourhood park is envisioned as a green refuge largely for passive recreation including a playground, dog-off leash park, lawn areas, ornamental plantings and fountains.
